La Paz, AZ Eyes Investments in Renewables

January 11, 2010 – Several renewable energy projects are vying for funding this week from the Mohave/La Paz Local Workforce Investment Board. The board has the goal of stimulating the ailing construction industry as well as paving the way for an energy-independent future for Arizona. The prospect of a 181 megawatt solar/wind plant near Kingman is welcome news to Kingman general contractors.

Other proposed projects include a 1,800 acre, 200-megawatt solar plant which would be built by the Albiasa Corporation outside of Wikieup. La Paz tradesmen, including Prescott contractors, are closely following the progress of the Mohave/La Paz Local Workforce Investment Board.
