December 1, 2009 – With the Santa Clara, California construction industry jobless rate currently around 30 percent, the city of Santa Clara is trying to make haste on the proposed 49ers new football stadium. The $937 million project could bring 700 construction jobs to the area, which is welcome news to struggling Santa Clara general contractors and Santa Clara electricians.
The new stadium will be voted on by the public on June 8th of next year, but the city has already started preliminary efforts by nearing signoff on the Environmental Impact Report for the 68,500-seat venue. Construction is expected to begin in 2012, which couldn’t come soon enough for local builders like Santa Clara plumbing contractors.
