Green Education for Sonoma Contractors

October 13, 2009 – Two Sonoma county community colleges will be the recipients of $2 million in federal stimulus funding to educated locals for green construction and technology jobs. Close to $27 million was awarded throughout the state of California to help train workers on energy efficient building strategies and technologies.  Sonoma contractors are expected to seize this opportunity and prepare themselves for the projects of tomorrow.  Classes in Sonoma will be offered at Peralta Community College and Contra Costa Community College.

The state of California hopes that the state-wide initiative will help create thousands of green jobs and give the struggling economy a shot in the arm.  It should also be noted that Richmond contractors and San Francisco contractors can also capitalize on green education programs in their areas.
