Deltona to Go Green with Stimulus Dollars

November 23, 2009 - Deltona, Florida was recently awarded over $700,000 in federal stimulus dollars to fund the city’s efforts to increase municipal energy efficiency. The funding, acquired through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), will in part be spent on installing a solar-powered electricity generating and water heating system for the future Fire Station 65. This stimulus spending should aid the local economy by putting a handful of Deltona contractors back to work.

A large portion of the ARRA dollars will also be spent on utilizing green energy for the powering of city parking lot and street lights, including lamps on Providence Boulevard. Deltona general contractors, as well as Deltona electricians, should contact the city about contracts available on these projects.
