Marian Hospital Carrying Santa Maria Construction Industry
Posted by jobtrio.com Staff on June 16th, 2009
June 16 2009 – Though the construction of the Santa Maria’s new Marian hospital has been underway since last October, the enormous project with a 2011 completion is currently providing much needed employment to over 120 construction workers during these rough economic times.
The $210 million project is one of the biggest to ever take place on California’s Central Coast. The new hospital will have 188 beds and be twice the size of the old facilities.
To date, approximately $40 million has been spent on the construction, and the work is ahead of schedule, with the steel frame of the four-story building recently being completed.
Many local contractors are being utilized, including Smith Electric and Thoma Electric. It is recommended that interested Santa Maria contractors and San Luis Obispo contractors pursue this opportunity, as apparently, several key subcontracting positions are still out for bid.
