November 16, 2009 – Beginning in 2011, the downtown region of Pompano Beach, Florida is planned to receive at least $1.8 million in enhancements and ascetic improvements. The goal is to beautify the area so that it might become more of a tourist draw. The construction efforts will be mainly focused on East Atlantic Boulevard, with sidewalk widening and landscaping improvements being discussed. Pompano Beach contractors welcome the economic boost this project will bring to the struggling construction industry.
Redevelopment Management Associates is heading-up the planning of the project, which will occur primarily on the section of Atlantic Boulevard between Northeast 18th Avenue and State Road A1A. Other improvements are likely to include new street lights and the paving of Atlantic Boulevard. Pompano Beach electricians and Pompano Beach general contractors are expected to compete for available subcontracting positions on the project.
