Pomona Contractors Await NFL Stadium

October 12, 2009 – In City of Industry and the surrounding areas, people are a-buzz with the prospect of an NFL franchise calling the region home as early as next season. Developers and city official are currently in the process of finalizing plans to build a stadium in City of Industry that will be ready for play in 2013.  Pomona contractors are expected to aggressively pursue openings on this $800 million construction project.

The 75,000 seat venue will sit on a hillside, utilizing the incline to make the construction much cheaper than the average NFL arena.  Whittier contractors and West Covina contractors will also be in the running for the many subcontracting positions on this large project.

Now, it looks like UH is moving towards a more inclusive renovation plan, that could possibly include the construction of a new football stadium.  Area contractors, including Houston electrical contractors, are excited about the prospect of the jobs the spending could generate.

Presently, the University is requesting submissions from general contractors on six possible construction plans which UH officials are mulling over.  One of the proposals involves both the basketball and football facilities being renovated, three proposals involve constructing a brand new football stadium, and two plans involve making modifications to the existing football stadium.  Needless to say, these projects could mean hundreds of construction jobs for everyone from Pasadena contractors to Houston HVAC contractors.
